In 2014, Elise and her husband Tucker started Cedar Rock Gardens, a 5-acre farm in Gloucester, MA where they grow 48 different varieties of vegetables, a lot of perennial and annual herbs, and a big cut flower patch with a focus on soil health and sustainability. They also have a seedling nursery, growing about 358 different types of plants - mostly edible- for people to buy for their home gardens. The farm offers fresh produce at its farm stand on site, delivers to local restaurants, and provides seedlings, all while building a strong, connected community around local, homegrown goodness. Customers coming to the farm each week to visit and talk about the delicious things they make with the fresh produce always makes Elise and the others working on the farm happy and keeps them going through the labor-intensive hard work during the season.
