About Us
Parker's Amazing Applesauce is carefully crafted small batch applesauce made with New England Grown apples and comes together perfectly in this comforting classic. This thick applesauce features 100% New England grown apples with real mouth feel and a nearly chunky consistency. Made with no added sugar or flavors, this rich and sweet applesauce is a blend of classic apple varieties including the iconic Macintosh and the sweet Cortland. What’s more is that the apples we use are the ones that don’t make it through the sorting process (perfect or pretty enough for retail sales) but are otherwise perfectly delicious.
Parker’s Amazing Applesauce delivers a tasty and familiar flavor that is a worthy addition to almost any dish. Because it is made with hearty, wholesome ingredients, this applesauce will leave you feeling full and satisfied whether you enjoy it on its own or pair it with a dish like pancakes, pork or ice cream. Because Parker’s Amazing is made with 99% local ingredients, of which 99% are upcycled, it is not just better for you - it is better for all of us. Food waste is a global problem, with as much as 30% of all food being wasted and contributing an estimated 8% of greenhouse gas emissions.
Karl Dias is founder and CEO of FATBOY Foods and its New England Made brand. As a USDA Certified Organic co-packer with operations in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts and Lincoln, Rhode Island, Karl specializes in producing value-added products, often from locally-sourced ingredients. Early in his career, visits to regional farms sparked an interest in helping growers make the most of their crops, particularly the “ugly” or processing fruit not destined for supermarkets. Today, his work is focused on applesauce and purees of fruits and vegetables from growers throughout New England. In developing an extensive network of regional farmers, buyers and distributors, Karl has partnered with large institutions with programs committed to the use of local produce, such as Harvard and Tufts University, as well as regional organizations devoted to bringing local produce to schools and other institutions, such as Massachusetts Farm to School.
